UPDATE 2022

Sweetcorn was planted last week

Frennch and runner beans not show.ing yet.

We planted out those cucurbits with true leaves and potted on those with only seed leaves.

We sowed our autumn brassicas in rows in the hoop nets.

We learnt how to spray broad beans against blackfly

UPDATE 2021

Sweetcorn should be big enough to plant out - at the middle end of your third plot so they form a block of 16 plants with your neighbour's; could be fleeced.

Sprout and cabbage seedlings could be put in the seedbed as we did for leeks.  They will need protecting from birds. They will go into their permanent bed in June/July.

Squash and courgettes have been slow to germinate so pot on rather than plant out.

We sowed runner beans and French beans last week around our frame built a few weeks earlier so it will be another week or so before they are up.

Tomatoes for the polytunnel should be brought along for planting.

Outdoor tomatoes (Karen and Sam?) should be potted up and kept at home.

Jan's celeriac could benefit from a week in my greenhouse so bring them on Sunday.

We shall make some 'comfrey tea'.

The weather has been great for weeds!
